Terms and Conditions

Our Agreement with You:

These terms and conditions govern your reservation, payment and use in respect of the Swim 121 swimming program. They take effect upon the completion of your booking with Swim 121, whether the booking is made online, over the phone, via email, letter or in person.

Behavioural Standards and Exclusion

All children, parents and guardians behave at all times in a manner that is respectful of Swim 121 staff and other customers and that conforms to applicable safety requirements. Swim 121 has the right to demand the removal of anyone who fails to adhere to these requirements. Such failure shall include, but not be limited to any form of verbal or physical threatening, abuse or bullying of a fellow child or member of staff. Transportation of a child home will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian and no refund or credit will be issued.

Child Protection

Swim 121 staff have a duty to act if they suspect that a child in their care may be suffering from abuse or if a child makes a disclosure about abuse. In such an event, the member of staff will follow the Child Protection Policy (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/safeguarding-children-and-young-people/safeguarding-children-and-young-people).

Complaints

Swim 121 is fully committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching and coaching to the local community. If you or your child is not entirely satisfied with the service provided we would like to hear about it. If we become aware of any problem while you or your child is still attending a course or activity, we will aim to resolve this at an early stage. All complaints should be made directly to John Francis and you can be assured that any complaint will be taken very seriously.

Bookings

We require all places on Swim 121 courses to be booked prior to the session/course commencing to ensure there is the correct staff to children ratio.

Renewals for the next session/course commencing will be accepted before the current session/course ends. In making a renewal you are reserving a place on the next session/course and not a specific time.

Bookings are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and must be paid either online at the time of the booking or in person before the session/course commences.

Refund Policy

Refunds are not payable in the event of non-attendance, except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of Swim 121.

Cancellation Due to Circumstances Beyond our Control

There may be circumstances beyond our control and contemplation, in which the pool might not be available for Swim 121 sessions. Examples of these circumstances include (but are not limited to) damage to the pool, severe weather conditions, power failures, industrial action. In such a case no refund will be issued, however, if possible, we will try to reschedule the session.

Time Change Due to Circumstances Beyond our Control

We reserve the right to change your existing class time due to reasons beyond our control.

Holidays

Swim 121 will still operate during public and school holidays unless otherwise stated. If you or your child is unable to attend, during these periods, due to holidays then contact John Francis. The cost of the lesson will be charged if 72 hours notice of cancellation is not received.

Illness

Never bring your child swimming if they have an illness such as an ear infection, diarrhoea, chicken pox, impetigo, conjunctivitis or a bad cold. Please wait until your doctor has given the all-clear before returning to class.

In the instance of sickness and diarrhoea, your child must have been clear of all symptoms for at least 48 hours before attending a lesson.

Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to inform Swim 121 of any medical conditions when first signing up with us. You will be able to update and amend these details at any point on request. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

Swimwear

We advise children to wear practical swimwear: for example, shorts or trunks for boys and swimming costumes for girls. UV vests and other long-legged and long-sleeved swimwear is not advisable as they limit movement and reduce body temperature. Goggles are strongly recommended.

Long hair should be fastened securely and kept away from your child's eyes and face.

Nappies

All babies and toddlers and those children not yet toilet trained must wear a swim nappy in the pool with a swimming costume or pair of swimming trunks over the top. Swim 121 reserve the right to refuse entry to any child who is not suitably attired.

Please take all your used nappies away with you unless a clearly marked bin has been provided. Never leave nappies in an open bin.

Pool/Poolside Health and Safety

Parent/guardians are responsible for the safe supervision of any children you bring at all times; on poolside, in the changing rooms and on pool premises. They should always be under the direct supervision of an adult who is not taking part in the lesson and never left unattended.

No outdoor footwear or prams are permitted onto poolside.

Please observe signage at all times.

Photography

At times we may take photographs or videos which may be used for marketing and promotional purposes. We will inform parent/guardians on the day and a consent form will be available for those who are happy for photography to take place.
